TEHRAN – An Iranian knowledge-based company has successfully produced 37 types of products in the field of regenerative medicine, ISNA reported on Wednesday.
The products have been produced using modern technology and are available in the market, company chief Moayed Dehqanpour said.
The products are in different areas of dressing, pain relief, skin and hair, and health issues, he said.
“Indeed, after studying the problems and identifying the needs, the products mentioned were produced which both speed up the processing cycle and reduce costs.
What is regenerative medicine?
Regenerative medicine is a relatively new field of study that treats injuries and illnesses by harnessing the body’s own regenerative abilities.
Encompassing a wide range of scientific disciplines (from molecular biology and genetics to immunology and biochemistry), research in regenerative medicine generally focuses on the following key principles, including understanding the physiological mechanisms of stem cells, knowledge of cell growth and death, which makes them transform into other cells and learn about the supporting structure between cells.
Human adults already have regenerative capacities. For example, the liver may return to its original size if part of it has been lost as a result of injury or illness. Our skin is another part of our body that is able to renew and repair itself.
Some tissues and organs do not have this ability, but scientists believe they could allow them to do so.
Answering these questions is essential because it will provide a better understanding of how stem cells work to repair or replace tissues and organs. Understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved is essential in the development of regenerative medicine.
