Temporary Prescription Renewal Waivers Available for Allendale County, SC

ALLENDALE, SC – The Defense Health Agency (DHA) announced that TRICARE recipients in Allendale County, South Carolina can receive emergency prescription refills from now until April 16 due to the tornado.

Officials say that to receive an emergency prescription drug refill, TRICARE recipients must bring their prescription bottle to any pharmacy in the TRICARE retail network.

They add that if the bottle is unavailable or the label is damaged or missing, recipients should contact Express Scripts or their retail network pharmacy for assistance.

To find a network pharmacy, beneficiaries can call Express Scripts at 1-877-363-1303.

They can also search for the network pharmacy locator here.

Recipients are encouraged to visit here for updates.

According to officials, if possible, go to the pharmacy where the prescription was filled.

Prescriptions filled by one store chain can be filled at another store within that chain.

If the provider is available, beneficiaries can request a new prescription at any pharmacy in the network.

According to the press release, TRICARE recipients, other than active duty members, can receive emergency care from any TRICARE-approved emergency care center or provider and do not need a referral.

This allows beneficiaries to seek non-emergency care for illnesses or injuries if their primary care provider is unavailable due to emergencies.
