These brands donate profits to help Ukrainians

Do you feel helpless while watching the news? It’s hard not to. But as we have seen harrowing images of Russia invading Ukraine in our feeds and on our screens, we must remember that even from our WFH rat’s nests we can make a difference. Some foreign fighters take up arms, which, by the way, you shouldn’t do if you don’t have previous military experience. However, there are better ways to help Ukrainians than simply scrolling on Twitter, whether through fundraisers, donations, protests or political initiatives. Some artists sell their work specifically to raise money, and even blacksmiths and the crypto community contribute their efforts.

Some brands also donate profits from their sales (or from particular items) to organizations that support causes related to Ukraine. Here are a few that stand out.

Tombolo Company Cabana Ukraine Shirt

Tombolo Company, which makes some of our favorite all-gender leisurewear and vacation wear sets, designed a Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund Cabana shirt, and the brand is donate 100% of sales of this pre-order shirt at GlobalGiving’s Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund. The pre-order window closes at the end of March and the jersey, which is designed in the color of the Ukrainian flag, will ship between June 15 and July 31.

“All donations to the Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund will support humanitarian relief in affected communities in Ukraine and surrounding areas where Ukrainian refugees have fled,” the brand explains. “Your donation will provide the following and more: shelter, food and clean water for refugees, health and psychosocial support, access to education and economic assistance… This is the one of the most reliable and trustworthy charities in the world with a four star rating and near perfect score from Charity Navigator evaluating their stability, efficiency and commitment to transparency When we say we will give 100% of sales of this shirt, we mean 100%.”

Michael Sard, the co-founder of Tombolo, told VICE, “This is our first attempt at what could be a new way for us to raise money for worthy causes: a pre-order on order where we donate 100% This looks like a promising way for us to get funds for the cause as soon as possible, although the shirt has to be made first and will take a bit of time. Immediately supporting Ukrainian refugees is a way for us to ‘match’ their donation by thanking them with a free shirt. We cover all costs so that every dollar goes to GlobalGiving’s Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund.” You can pre-order the shirt below.
