Which brands are avoiding Christmas supply chain problems?

Some shoppers are concerned that their gifts won’t arrive in time for this year’s holiday. Many politicians have said Christmas supply chain problems will likely continue until 2022, but some brands have found ways to avoid the problem altogether. If you’ve been keeping up with the supply chain shortage and want to make sure your Christmas presents arrive on time, you’ll be interested in how these three brands make the most of a bad situation.

Many brands are focusing much of their manufacturing efforts in Vietnam, but due to their Covid restrictions, factories have had to either keep their employees on site or shut down operations altogether. These manufacturing issues caused significant problems for companies like Nike and Lululemon. On the other hand, Levi’s does a great job of diversifying its manufacturing and only concentrates around 4% of its global manufacturing in Vietnam. In an interview with CNBC, Chip Bergh, CEO of Levi’s, said, “Our supply chain is truly a source of competitive advantage. We can move the product with a lot of agility.

Movado designs and distributes its own brand of watches and licensed watches through Coach, Lacoste, MVMT, Olivia Burton, HUGO BOSS, Tommy Hilfiger and Scuderia Ferrari. Movado has remained relatively unaffected by supply chain shortages so far, but as global demand for luxury watches continues to rise, this may soon cease to be the case.

Crocs was first released in 2002 and has recently gained popularity. Vietnam was expected to account for around 70% of Crocs manufacturing by the end of 2021; However, when factories in Vietnam began to shut down, Crocs was quick to move manufacturing to new locations. According to Andrew Rees, CEO of Crocs, the simple design of the classic Crocs shoe is to be thanked for its durability. Since the clogs consist of only three pieces, and two of them are made on site, Crocs easily moved manufacturing to new factories as needed.
